SIMON J. ADLER, LLM

Simon has been involved in litigation, primarily commercial civil litigation, since 1978. He has trained formally in mediation under Barbara Landau through Conrad Grebel College. He has been involved in many mediations, primarily in the area of commercial/civil litigation, insurance defence, personal injury, estates and employment files.

Simon graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School in 1976, was called to the Bar in 1978 and obtained his Masters in Law from Osgoode Hall Law School (Constitutional Law - Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms) in 1990. He has appeared successfully in all levels of Ontario Courts. He completed his formal training in mediation in 2010.

Simon is a member of ADR Institute of Ontario, the Advocates Society, the Waterloo Law Association, the Canadian Bar Association and of course, the Law Society of Upper Canada.

Simon's preferred areas of mediation are: commercial litigation, estates, insurance, construction and real estate litigation, employment law.

Simon views mediation as the best way of economically and expeditiously resolving issues - particularly if some future or further relationship between the parties is necessary or desirable. Simon views the mediator's role as requiring the mediator to be:
